Sunday Morning Musing: Occupational Escapism

Oh yes... How true this is!

Writers write anywhere. Including in their head. Plotting, planning, penning airborne phrases. At any given notice. While eating dinner, walking, or most frequently - in the middle of talking to other people.

When the Muse beckons, we must follow.

Please forgive us. We don't mean to be rude! It's just an occupational quirk. And not a passive daydreamy escapism, but an active working one.  Which can yield the best kind of results!

  1. Hey Siobhan,

I just writing my blog about 4 months ago and I've discovered a love for writing that I thought I had left in school.
I think about writing all the time and it's good for me as I'm fighting a battle against anorexia/bulimia.
Instead of thoughts of food and numbers, I try to think of characters and stories.
I mostly write about my struggles and it really helps.

Lovely blog by the way x

  2. Hi Ruby, thank you so much for stopping by!

I'm glad you've rediscovered your love for writing! It is a powerful process. And I firmly believe it helps us so much too. It fine-tunes our ability to process things, and also our means of expression.

It's also all-consuming so I hope that it does fill your mind with all its wonders and ways and help you with your struggles.

    Keep writing! :)
